Nonoy Alovera…
circa 2007
He comes from the musically-blessed Philippine Islands. Nonoy joined his first
band at age 14, initially playing for neighborhood and family gatherings and
then for American servicemen and women at Clark Air Base and Olongapo. Japan
was his first international musical adventure in 1976. Five years later he
arrived in the United States. Here to stay.
circa 1989
Working the West Coast and Las Vegas with the New Exiles, the Human Equation,
A*Lover*A and the San Fernando Bands. An eclectic presentation of music seems
to be the common thread in each combo. In his styling you will feel a true
respect for those “greats” who have gone before while maintaining an authentic
excitement for ideas that are new.
circa 1989
Vocal “texture”-- something Nonoy’s voice is rich with. He has a heart for soul
and blues music, with a voice to match. If words fail, then let him speak
through his guitar. Jeff Beck, Santana, and Larry Carlton have all left their
mark on his interpretations. Each line seems just a little too easy, a little
too effortless with just enough grit to make it all “tasty”.
circa 2003
He currently plays a Fender Statocaster, a Kramer Pacer Karrera, and a very sweet accoustic guitar named "Emmy".

She is the daughter of a Georgia peach and an Oregon duck-- she herself is a
Florida “gator”. Although she always sang in school and church she never really
thought much about it as a career. It never sounded like a viable idea,
especially the notion of making a living in performance. College studies led to
further disenchantment with lack of support for for the arts”. It wasn’t until
1983 that she took the leap--full-time performance as a career. After years of
watching…she.now had the chance to entertain!!
circa 1993
Performance opportunities before 1983 had been occasional. Teaching beginning
piano to neighborhood kids was the extent of her musical reach. Marrying a
talented musician, Nonoy Alovera, in 1981, her first solid musical opportunity
came when his band’s members decided to part ways. Hitting the road wiith
talent and passion, they worked 51 weeks straight the first year. She found she
not only loved performing but liked life on the road as well.
circa 1998
“Warm and soothing”—is the most common reaction to ty!’s voice. If you ask
about musical influences on her art, they tend to be singer-songwriter types.
Carole King, Carly Simon, and Barbra Streisand all inspired her passions at one
time or another.
This act is like no other, ty! and Nonoy present some of your favorite “retr0-classics” with style and passion. PACIFIC BREEZE brings to life the music of Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Patsy Cline, Peggy Lee and many more. Both artists have voices rich in texture and expression, and the musical backdrop Nonoy provides is extraordinary.
In his journey from the Philippines, Nonoy has made friends and fans from Japan to Anchorage and from Seattle to Los Angeles…and now in Tucson, AZ!! As you watch him play his guitar you see and hear the nuances of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Santana.
Ty! is indeed a unique talent--her rich, “torchy” tone makes the songs just a little warmer and just a little sweeter. Her energy is contagious and “outrageous”! Dancing, singing and making new friends is her obvious passion. It must be those southern roots!
PACIFIC BREEZE’s classy enthusiasm turns every performance into an “Event” as they light up the room with great music and warm hospitality.
